My DIY Bow Pillow Led to a Cake-Fueled Day

FYI: I'm STILL running a digital scrapbooking software giveaway with MyMemories! Entries are STILL low, so please check it out!

Today, I ate mostly cake. No kidding. I had a piece of leftover chocolate chip cake with peanut butter buttercream for breakfast. (I had a carrot for lunch.) Then I went to a dessert potluck in lieu of dinner. I drank decaf. We made sure that the Babby had fruit and yogurt and then she wasn't really all that interested in the desserts anyway.

I also worked today, while the BabbyDaddy and the Babby went and saw a movie (Totoro) at the Museum of Fine Arts and then rode the train and had lunch at a noodle restaurant. Lucky girl, right? Having such a fun date with her papa!

father daughter time

I wish I could have gone, but then there was the party and I just couldn't see myself going into the city in the a.m., partying in the p.m., insofar as I "party", and then working all day Sunday.

(And taking an almost three year old to a movie at a museum is the kind of thing the BabbyDaddy can do without stressing out. Me? Not so much.)

Now, I'm tired *yawn* and not just because it was almost all cake all day. I stayed up a little too late last night FINALLY sewing the pieces of my bow pillow case. The pillow itself was Christmas themed, which just wouldn't do so I had to mod it somehow. I was inspired by the bow pillow turorial at Say Yes to Hoboken, though I've also seen bow pillows over on Design Sponge. I like how it turned out, but if I was going to make another I would use a more structural fabric so the bow in my bow pillow would have a little more oomph.

Oh, and in case you're wondering what I made for the dessert potluck, I made these:

peanut butter cupcakes

  2. Thanks, they were awesome! But it's just a simple vegan chocolate cake and a peanut butter buttercream icing. Easy peasy! Make some :)

I have recently found your blog and am now following you, and will visit often. Please stop by my blog and perhaps you would like to follow me also. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Chris
