I always like to joke that when you're a freelancer, you never get any real time off. You don't work; you don't get paid. But you especially don't get any time off when you're a freelancing Mama with a toddler at home.
...and a husband who happens to need to work late. And about a bajillion emails coming in. The cats are barfing everywhere. Suddenly all the books and things you listed for sale are selling like crazykins. And one day it seems like a really good idea to drop everything and make a dress.
Yeah, it's been that kind of week. A non-stop, never-ending, get-me-out-of-here kind of week.
With that in mind, I am sitting here NOT writing the email responses I ought to be writing and NOT packing up the books and video games I've sold and NOT writing blog posts (other than this one, which hardly counts) and NOT putting away dishes and NOT being a responsible parent who is quizzing the Babby on her ABCs or 123s.
What I AM doing is watching the AristoCats with the Babby and drinking coffee and considering taking a shower.
Then I'll get back to this, the week that never ends. Once I'm clean. Until then, here's what I'm reading:
Princess progress?
That should read: 'Helpful dads like helping when allowed to parent'
It's like looking into a blogging mommy mirror. LOL I've not gotten a day of the week right in months. I've been feeling crappy all week and finally just said, "Screw it" to the housework.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon!
Thanks, Maggi. Hope you're feeling better, too. If I could lose the cough - and the runny nose - things would be dandy. As it is, I've been coughing for so long that my stomach and head are hurting! Ugh!
ReplyDeleteLoved this post! You make a crappy week interesting to read - isn't that wild? Hmmm wonder what that says about my life? Love Babby's hair color - mine was that color up to about 5th grade. She is SUCH a doll. And I love AristoCats - great movie!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great compliment, thank you! I doubt that the Babby's hair color will actually stay that way. I had light blond hair as a kid, but brown hair by the time I was in my 20s. My natural color is actually a pretty dark brown, much to my surprise. I just dyed it blond again! (I started dying it blond at 15 and was blond until my late 20s.)
ReplyDeleteoooh, sounds like my week! And yes as I say that there is laundry that needs to be put away and a million blog posts to write...but it's more fun to read yours instead! :) Hope you're having a great weekend.
